Summer 610 MR

Festivities proceed, and during the night an assassin tries to kill Jasmine in her sleep. The Heroes kill him, and find out he is a servant of Johnatan Pelien, the brother of the Baron of Pelien. The day after, the Bellaen's bride is found dead in her bed. The Bellaens require Jonhatan's head, but the Heroes refuse and start to investigate the matter.

Unfortunately the trail goes cold, and the heroes are forced to return to Tieghan Castle, while rumours of a Ghoerian army massing at the southern borders start to spread. The Countess entrusts an army to the Heroes to repel the invading forces. On the field of battle, Hadrien Pelien betrays the heroes, revealing himself as the one that orchestrated the assassination attempts. Also due to his betrayal, the Heroes' army is defeated, and the province is occupied by Ghoere.

On their way back to Tieghan Castle, the Heroes receive a message from the wanted bandit-lord Dalien Claw, offering them important information if they will come and visit him in the Cavern of Lost Hope. Desperate to get any possible advantage, the Heroes decide to go there without any escort.
