Session 31

Winter 614 MR

Sigurd, using powerful Realm Magic, stops the plague from reaching Vjelthelma, but the province is invaded by several Ogres troops, led by the Knight of Ice and his priestesses of Kriesha. Ghuralli's other provinces are shielded by a magical mist that keeps any invading troops at bay.

The Brotherhood and the Watch try to stop the Knight's advance, but they're forced to retreat to Boganhaar. During the battle, Gunnar is slain in single combat by the Knight of Ice, but he manages to remove the helm of the icy warrior, revealing that the Knight is the daughter of the White Witch. Hrothwulf seems to be awestruck by her beauty.

The Knight advances in Boganhaar, and thanks to her priestesses, obtains another victory. The Heroes retreat to lick their wounds, and the enemy does not push further.

In the meanwhile, in the Khinasi lands...

Michael arrives in the kingdom of Aryia, and meets the Master of the Black Lotus. He will spend the next year together with Khalila and her crew to learn the fine art of assassination, and to train in many shady skills. While in Aryia, Lord Thalion, in disguise, contacts him, and reveals to him that he needs to kill a man named Achbar, and that only by following the Rose of Jumlat he will be able to fullfill his task. Khalila's crew knows that the Rose of Jumlat is a priceless jewel belonging to a merchant in the city of Jumlat, and they decide to travel there.
Luck is on their side, as it seems that a caravan is about to depart, to transport the Rose out of town.

Session 30

Winter 614 MR

Michael leaves with Khalila for the Khinasi lands. The remaining Heroes depart to meet Ghuralli. Together with the Awnshegh, they find troops of the White Witch, led by the Knight of Ice. An unsettling, shadowy presence surround the meeting place. Ghuralli reveals that he does not wish to fight against the Brotherhood, but he will have no mercy for the Watch. All he wants is for the Heroes to not intervene in the upcoming conflict. He also advises them that a plague will soon spread in Vjethelma and Boghanaar.

The Heroes do not seal any deal, and immediately inform Anneke and the Watch about Ghuralli's plans. They offer their help to the Watch, if Anneke will agree to become a vassal of Hrothwulf. Since she has no chance to oppose Ghuralli without the Heroes' magical powers, she accepts. The Heroes begin to plan the defenses of the land, while from Rhuiddhar, a dark plague starts to spread to the south.

Session 29

Summer 614 MR till Winter

After a deadly encounter with hungry Spectres, the Heroes find the Tomb of the Storm King. There, they face many trials, until they're in the presence of the ancient spirit of the Giant King himself. Recognizing their cause as worthy, he allows them to take the ancient treasures he guards, among which is the Book the Giantdowns, a magical text that allows them to better understand the lands they've set forth to rule.

Back home, Raenwe is contacted by Ulzor Sned, on behalf of the awnshegh Ghuralli. The warlord wants to meet the Heroes in two months time, apparently under a banner of truce. The Heroes, not sure they should trust the word of the awnshegh, plan for the future.

Session 28

Spring 614 MR till Summer

The Heroes have the time to catch their breath and inspect the big cave more carefully, when an evil voice echoes through the compound, announcing their demise: Jinjuk, the Derro leader of the forge, has released the Fire Elemental powering the furnace!

The Heroes defeat the monster and slay Jinjuk, and free Gelica, the silph that was captured while investigating the poisonous cloud. Raenwe seals the portal throught which the dwarves were transporting their products, and purify what's left of the cloud. The Heroes retrieve Ulzor's ring and travel back to Gelica's home among the clouds. The Asperii offer their service to the party, while Gelica promises Michael to teach him more about the Way of the Winds.

Back in Skansoeren, the Heroes seal their deal with Ulzor, who delivers to them the map to find the tomb of the Storm King. Hrothwulf decides to assign rulership of the region to Raenwe.

At the beginning of Summer, Lord Thalion visits Michael, complimenting the Brotherhood for their accomplishments, and reminding his son that his trip to the khinasi lands approaches. The party, to respect Michael's decision, decide to not inquire further about the whole happenings surrounding Michael's death and resurrection.

The Heroes start investigating Skansoeren to find the tomb of the Storm King, discovering a few unrelated barrows.

Session 27

Spring 614 MR

The party travels to the Whitepeaks in Haldallen, where the dark dwarves are said to be found. While travelling the mountain passes, they meet a beatiful silver-maned white horse, lying wounded amongst the rocks. The Heroes assist him, and find out that the horse is actually an Asperii, a breed of intelligent flying horses. More Asperii arrive on the scene, thanking the Heroes for their help.

They explain that the wounded Asperii fell from the sky, dazed by the proximity with a poisonous cloud hovering above the Whitepeaks. The Asperii bring the party to visit Gelica, a sylph that can probably provide more information on the matter. Riding the Asperii, the Heroes reach Gelica's hut among the clouds, but they only found her talking owl companion. He informs them that Gelica went to investigate the poisonous cloud, but has not returned. Luckily for them, Gelica's magical harp, granting the power of fly for one and a half day, is still in the hut. Now able to fly on their own, the Heroes reach the blood-red cloud, and find a way inside the mountain from which the cloud originates.

Inside the mountain, they find an immense, active forge operated by Derro Dwarves, and their slaves. The Heroes attack the compound, defeating the biggest part of the Derro forces.

Session 26

Early 614 MR till Spring

Together with their dwarven allies, the Heroes achieve a great victory against Ghuralli's armies. Ogrun is invested as regent of Silverheart, and swears fealthy to Hrothwulf.

Jasmine travels to Alamie, and hears important news: the Patriarch of the Imperial Temple of Haelyn has declared a Holy War against Ghoere and all the followers of Cuiraecen that refuse to submit to the authority of the Empire of Anuire and the Imperial Temple.

Ghuralli moves his hordes into the Barrow Woods, and rumors start to spread that the Awnshegh is strengthening his holdings to better face the rising threat of the Brotherhood of the Wolf.

Raenwe points his gaze to Skansoeren as next target for the Brotherhood's expansion. The Heroes make contact with Ulzor Sned, a goblin trader and leader of the goblinoid tribes living in Skansoeren. Ulzor seems willing to ally himself with the Heroes, but has a few requests: he wants to be allowed to start a Guild, and he wants the Heroes to retrieve a magical ring that was taken away from him by a treacherous dwarf. Ulzor believes this dwarf to be an ally of Ghuralli, and, in exchanges of the stolen ring, he offers the Brotherhood a map leading to the resting place of the ancient Giant-King, legendary sovereign of the Giantdowns in ages past.

The Heroes accept, and start to plan their mission.
