Year 640 MR - Spring
The Heroes sneak inside the artist's studio, where they find several unfinished statues of very low quality, together with a few marble statues of astonishing craftamanship. Still, the sculptor's tools look un-used.
Investigating further, the Heroes confront Romero's three "apprentices", who are actually wererats. Trevan casts a spell of charm on one of them, and discovers that Romero's art is actually created by magical gloves with the power to turn living people into marble statues!
When confronted, Romero tries to explain himself, but with a well-placed dagger Malik silences him forever. The Heroes also defeat the wererats, and then use the magical gloves to turn the victims back to their living forms.
When news of their heroics begin to spread, they receive official thanks from the City Watch, and an invitation to meet the Patriarch. At the meeting, they ask Patriarch Adame to support Lord Thalion's plead to the Emperor, to mitigate the latest edicts of the sovereign. Lord Adame seems to share their beliefs, and promises to stand by Thalion's side during the next council at Court.
But when the day comes, and Lord Thalion stands in front of the Emperor at court, the Patriarch accuses him of conspiring against the Empire, and of being a traitor! As Emperor Darien orders his knights to seize Lord Thalion and his entourage, things are looking bleak for our Heroes...
