Once vassals and protectors of the Dukes of Tuornen and the Flaertes family, the Tieghan raised to prominence when Ansen II distinguished himself at the side of Lord Thalion and Emperor Agelmore, bringing forth the birth of a new Empire.

In the latest years of his life, Ansen II begun his transformation into an ershegh, taking on the form of a silver knight whose armour was his skin. Before finding death at the hands of the awnshegh Medusa and her minions, he founded the Order of the Silver Knights, holy warriors of Haelyn.

His son Regall married the Duchess of Tuornen, becoming Duke of the lands his family had protected for several decades.
