Session 38 (2,000 xp)

Heroes: Sigurd, Vladimir, Malik, Rowena, Storm

Year 645 MR (2nd quarter)

Storm travels to Dhoesone, to seek the mage Daeric Dhoesone. During a secret meeting with the wizard, he manages to make a deal with him: the Jotunulf will help Daeric taking back Dhoesone from the Church, and Daeric will become a vassal of King Sigurd. Dhoeson hopes to one day reconquer those lands lost to the elves, but it will take time.

The next month, the Heroes travel to Hollingholmen in Stjordvik; King Varri will make Storm one of his jarls, and has called the other jarls to the capital for the announcement. While they're there, something strange happens. Animated corpses are appearing out of nowhere on the streets, in different locations. All the zombies bear pickaxes, and are only wearing loincloths.

In the meanwhile, Rowena and Vladimir search for lore about the vision Sigurd's had several months back. Legends tell of an ancient cabal of wizard that inhabited the grounds that Hollingholmen now occupies, and of a curse cast at them by the god Erik, burying them deep into the ground. Vladimir's divine magic confirms that a sielshegh stone is buried a few hundred feet below the city streets.

During the jarls' meeting, the King orders Storm to find out more about the mystery involving the zombies, in order to prove his worth. The investigation leads first to the hardware store that sells the pickaxes found on the zombies, then to the undertaker that has bought them, and sold the corpses to a money-lender to pay for his gambling debts.

The Heroes got to visit the money-lender, but when he realises they're on to him, he tries to escape. The Heroes take care of the villain's bodyguards, and capture the man. There will be many questions he needs to answer.
