Session 12

Heroes (lvl 4): Amani, Deet, Gunnar, Hassan, Regall, Ryel

671 MR - Winter (month of Pasiphiel)

The party is welcomed at the court of High King Sigurd. Unexpectedly, when Thalion is introduced at court, he's immediately arrested and separated from the others. The High King does not trust Thalion, as he fears he has returned to manipulate his kingdom has he did in the past. The party, especially Regall, petition for his release, and eventually the king agrees, though he rules that Regall will be responsible for Thalion's conduct.

Regarding fighting the Empire in the south, the High King is unwilling to risk war when to the east the Gorgon still looms, with his armies of humanoids and his Dragon. When discussing this issue at a later stage with Thalion, the party is reminded of an old legend about a "stone dragon" in the countryside of Tuornen. Thalion tells them the stone dragon is not a mere legend, but an actual dragon turned to stone.

Ryel chases Thalion to get some answers, and the old diplomat confirms that his actions have been ambiguous in the past, but all he did, he always did for the well-being of the Empire. He needs the powers of Cerilia to be united before the worst happens, before the veil between the Shadow and their world is gone completely. When Ryel chases him for more information, Thalion reveals that his mission was given to him by Healyn himself, the God of Honour and Rulership. Ryel ponders on the matter.

Gunnar receives a challenge from his sister Huralla, heir to the throne. She congratulates Gunnar for his magical armor, the gift he received from king Emerus Rocksplitter, while accusing him to care more for his band of rogues than for his family. She challenges the party to meet her and her family the day after at the Hill of Honour for a friendly competition. A competition involving swords and shields.
