Session 33

Heroes (lvl 8): Amani, Deet, Gunnar, Hassan, Regall, Ryel 

672 MR - Winter

While Deet roams outside of the castle, she's approached by a small group of bandits. She gets ready to confront them, but she's stopped by the familiar voice of their leader. Her sister Alyona, now a priestess of Kriesha, greets her with a feral grin. Deet tries to escape the confrontation, but she's captured.

Later in the day, the PCs are worried about Deet's absence, and begin looking for her. They track her movements to the edge of the forest, and then to a dark cave. Inside the cave, they find her prisoner of the bandits. They rapidly defeat the bandits, and capture Alyona.

They bring Alyona back to their camp, and imprison her. When they interrogate her, they discover that the priestess of Kriesha is on a mission to prove her worth to her priesthood back in Vosgaard. She needs to recover the Ring of Winter, a holy relic of the Church of the White Hand, once belonging to the White Witch. She believes that with Deet's help she may be able to sway High King Sigurd (Gunnar's father), to reveal the location of the ring.

Alyona also tries to ally with Gunnar, promising him rulership of the lands of northern Rjurik, once they're reclaimed with the help of the priestesses of Kriesha. Gunnar does not seem very interested in the offer.

The PCs discuss the matter, uncertain they should follow on this thread. With war looming near, they cannot spare the time for an adventure in the north. Deet is conflicted, since Alyona has revealed to her that the priestesses of Vosgaard have imprisoned her brother Khamil to ensure her collaboration.
