Session 42

Heroes (lvl 9): Amani, Deet, Gunnar, Regall, Ryel

673 MR - Spring

Still in spider-form, Amani finds the room of lady Idele, daughter of Guilder Arien. While observing her she realizes the young girl is still devoted to Haelyn, the god of justice. When Regall next checks on Amani with their telepathic connection, she informs the party of her location.

Deet and Ryel spring to action, moving from their hiding place to the gardens, where they ambush the groundkeeper and his dog. When they assault them they find out that not all is at it seems. The dog is actually a shadow mastiff, while the groundkeeper is a shadow demon! Luckily they manage to take them by surprise, and dispatch them before they can raise the alarm.

Regall and Gunnar follow just after, the Rjuven prince staying on guard, while the others climb up the balcony to the first floor, where the guilder and his wife are asleep. When one of them awakes, Deet rapidly casts a spell of silence on the room, while Ryel knocks them both unconscious.

Regall enters the room of lady Idele, and teleports both of them away with a dimension door spell. The rest of the party silently leaves the premises, and they all meet back into the sewers.

Now that young Idele is in their power, the PCs begin to have second thoughts about their plans to hand her over to Guilder Gaelin. After some debating, Regall decides to take on the appearances of Idele, and deliver himself to Gaelin, to betray him later. Amani and Deet remain in the sewers with Idele, while Ryel, Gunnar, and the shape-changed Regall go to the appointed place to deliver "lady Idele".

At the warehouse they find Gaelin's men; they take Regall with them, and leave Ryel and Gunnar in the warehouse, to await further instructions. Regall is delivered to one of Gaelin's feasthalls, where he meets with the guilder. A short exchange of words made Regall realize that allying with Gaelin might have been a mistake. Back at the warehouse, hidden assassins move to silence Ryel and Gunnar forever.
