A great feast is organized to introduce Hassan to the Queen's subjects. The Queen tells Hassan of Gar Shatterkeel, a former priest of Nesirie, in charge of guarding the Crown of the Oceans. Gar has been corrupted by the Shadow, and he has become a monstrosity. Hassan realizes that his next step is to recover the Crown, and claim his Birthright.
The day after the feast, the party descends into the Plunging Torrents, the defiled underground temple formerly blessed by Nesirie. In those flooded caves they find corrupted elemental guardians and dark cultists mutated by the Shadow.
Further exploration of the subterranean tunnels brings them to a large flooded cave, where an elemental mote of water wraps around an object of great power, most probably the Crown itself. Standing guard by the watery cage is Gar Shatterkeel himself.
