The Heroes persist in their negotiations with the Duke of Cariele, though progress seems halted. Recognizing the stalemate, Laile employs her magical abilities to infiltrate the Duke's dreams. There, she uncovers his deepest dread: the looming threat of the Shadow Forest and its spectral inhabitants.

Prince Fhileraene Llyrandor

Armed with this knowledge, the party attempts to sway the Duke by exploiting his fears. However, their plans are interrupted by a harrowing event. Shadows materialize within the Duke's court, claiming the lives of several guardsmen, and heralding the appearance of a more ominous specter. It is the ghastly, undead form of the Knight of Thorns, once Prince Fhileraene Llyrandor of Tuarhievel. He delivers a dire ultimatum to the Duke: surrender Amani and Regall, or face utter destruction by sundown.

Undeterred, the Heroes rally the Duke's trust, urging him to place faith in their strategy as they prepare the city for the impending undead onslaught.

In the ensuing clash, the party confronts the undead horde head-on, taking the fight directly to the Knight of Thorns. Through valor and skill, they vanquish his undead minions and ultimately lay the tormented soul of the elven prince to rest by destroying his undead vessel.
