Session 102

Heroes (lvl 16): Vladimir, Dafaelyn, Amani, Regall, Gunnar, Varri

676 MR - Autumn

The heroes descend the spiral staircase into the ancient druidic shrine, their breath clouding in the frigid air. The walls are carved with vines and runes now glazed in frost. Ghostly figures emerge from the mist—spirits of long-dead druids who whisper that the way forward is sealed until the altars of Summer, Spring, and Autumn are restored. Each altar stands frozen and lifeless, its power smothered by the Ice Queen’s magic. Through ritual, offerings, and raw elemental force, the heroes rekindle their flames: Summer with fire and life, Spring with renewal and flowing water, Autumn with harvest and decay. One by one, the altars flare to life, and the ancient magic stirs once more.

Beyond the shrine, an immense door of interwoven roots and stone blocks the path, its surface pulsing faintly with druidic power. From within the door emerges a twisted figure—Yevan, a once-revered druid now fused into the shrine itself. His body is a terrible blend of flesh, stone, and wood, his voice a hollow echo of the grove’s pain. The battle is brutal, roots lashing out and stone fists striking with primal fury, but the heroes prevail. As Yevan’s body crumbles to soil and splinters, the door creaks open, revealing a tunnel glittering with ice.

In the final chamber, Huralla stands suspended in a crystalline stasis field, her body frozen mid-motion, her expression serene yet trapped. The air hums with layered enchantments: frost, shadow, and a distortion of time itself. The heroes decipher the riddle etched into the walls, balancing light to pierce the shadow, motion to undo the frost, and the memory of the seasons to restore the natural flow of time. When the last sigil fades, the stasis shatters in a shower of frost, and Huralla collapses into their arms, free at last.

Her voice trembles with urgency as she warns them: the Ice Queen knows of their victory over Taliesin. Her fury spreads like a storm, and her armies are already on the march. The final war has begun.
