Our heroes continue travelling north, with the weather getting worse every day. They face attacks from yetis, and Thor is almost killed by an elemental creature of ice.
After 10 days of travel, the caravan meets with Magnus, son of the chieftain of the Kjarhoelle. Magnus takes half of the caravan with him, and sends the other half further north, apparently as payment to a clan of frost giants that have taken residence in an abandoned dwarven stronghold.
Hugin, having charmed the Kjarhoelle lieutenant that led them this far, proceeds with the tribe, while the other heroes regroup, and start making their way north. Jasmine has sensed that the cause of the unnatural winter covering the Giantdowns can be found inside the dwarven fortress.
The heroes reach the fortress, but while camping at some distance to prepare their attack plan, they're ambushed by a pack of wolves allied with the giants.
