Heroes: Signar, Vladimir, Malik, Machteld, Niobhe, Trevan.
Year 640 MR - Spring
The Heroes defeat the ghouls, and arrive at an ancient underground temple dedicated to Eloele, goddess of thieves. Waiting for them, two ghasts, one of them still possessing his powers as a priest, force them to a difficult fight shrouded in magical silence and darkness. Signar is gravely wounded, but thanks to Niobhe elven eyes, able to pierce the darkness, they manage to overcome the undead. Having cleared the lair, they return to the surface.
The Heroes rest for a couple of days, then attend an art exposition, where the famous sculptor Romero will present some of his new works. Knowing that the Patriarch is an admirer of the sculptor, the Heroes hope to find a way to get his attention. Romero's statues are indeed a work of art, of such precision and detail that the Heroes begin to think that magic may be involved. They manage to apporach a representative of the Patriarch, and make a deal: if the Heroes can convince Romero to decorate the Holy Cathedral with statues of angels, they will be granted a meeting with the Patriarch.
The day after, while on their way to the Artist's quarter, they meet a woman looking for her missing husband: when she gives them a description of the man, the Heroes realize it matches the subject of one of the statues they saw the day before. The Heroes begin asking questions around, and all clues seem to point to Romero's studio. Late in the evening, they approach the artist's abode.
