Heroes: Hrothwulf, Lena, Regall, Huralla, Nathanael, Ogrun
Year 642 MR (3rd quarter)
In the fiery caves beneath the Gorgon's lair, the Heroes must fight against Fire Giants and undead Flameskulls. The battle requires the most powerful magic to overcome, and even though they are victorious in the end, the price to pay is high: Nathanael and Ogrun are thrown into the lava by the giants, and do not survive the ordeal. Huralla, in her Fire Elemental form, manages to recover Nathanael's magical sword and Ogrun's ring of fire resistance.
The Heroes cross the caverns, and arrive in one of the orog citadels surrounding the fortress. They sneak their way past hundreds of orogs, and enter the main compound. When their illusion magic fails, they find themselves facing hundreds of orog defending the inner chambers that should bring them to the throne room. As a ferocious mass of orogs charges them, the Heroes stand their ground, and welcome the slaughter to come.
