Heroes: Gunnar, Hassan, Bundrik, Dafaelyn, Horgin, Rhys
673 MR - Summer
The party strikes a deal with the disembodied head of Neferekhu; she will provide information about the Crown of the Oceans, and they will provide her with a body. Neferekhu reveals that the Crown was made with a number of seilsheghlien gems, precious stones imbued with the power of the former gods of Cerilia. Six of these crown are said to exist, one for each bloodline (except Azrai?), and the one who wears the crown will rule over his own people. The Heroes realize that two of these crowns are owned by High King Sigurd, and the Emperor of Anuire.
The PCs proceed in their exploration, braving more undead creatures and magical traps. They arrive at a large room filled with corpses, overseen by a powerful undead creture: Iagostes, an apostate priest from the ancient time. Iagostes and his mummies try overpower the party, and to take control of Hassan, to spill the blood of Masela flowing in his veins. But the party fights back, and when Gunnar severs Iagostes' head from his neck, the dark powers defiling the temple are banished back to the Shadowfell.
The Heroes return to the main temple of the catacombs, where they witness a magical illusion being played across the walls of the temple. The illusion shows them the story of the ancient Masetians, of how they fought at Deismaar, and of how their bloodline was scattered across the seas. They also witness one of the noble families of the sea people shipwrecking, the sole survivor a beautiful woman washing ashore in Djafra. A man, Hassan's father, rescues the woman, and takes her with him to his palace.
Hassan realizes that his own bloodline is connected to the fate of the Crown of the Oceans, and that his father will know more about who his mother really was.
