The heroes set sail from Stjordvik aboard a swift vessel gifted by King Storm, with none other than Princess Karena at the helm. Their voyage across the open sea is soon interrupted by a fierce ambush—a warband of sahuagin rises from the depths to strike, testing the party’s mettle in brutal waters.
Their next destination on Gunnar’s royal campaign is the realm of Rjuvik, a land ruled by a shrewd king with a notorious fondness for gold. Gunnar receives a formal welcome at court, but the halls are not his alone. There, among the courtiers and nobles, he discovers envoys of Queen Rowena—his aunt, and a formidable rival for the crown. Whispers of intrigue swirl through the court, as it becomes clear that Rowena is already at work, attempting to sway the influential Moonlight Council with generous bribes and silvered words.
As the court of Rjuvik slumbers beneath its jeweled skies, Gunnar is visited in a dream. The message comes from Taliesin—his treacherous cousin, once kin, now serpent. Through arcane means, Taliesin offers a deal cloaked in honeyed words and veiled threats. But Gunnar, unwavering, casts the offer aside with burning scorn, rejecting the traitor in no uncertain terms. No pact shall be forged with one who turned his back on blood.
