Session 1

Heroes (lvl 1): Amani, Gunnar, Hassan, Morwen, Regall, Ryel

671 MR - 671 MR - Winter (month of Keltier)

Amani, Morwen, and Gunnar are in Hollingholmen, capital of Stjordvik, awaiting the return of their brothers, Vladimir and Tristan. The two young scions left a couple of years back, as wards of Prince Malik el-Arrasi.

Regall has been tracking two mysterious figures that came out of the Shadow Forest a few weeks back, following them as far as Hollingholmen. The two men are Ryel and Thalion, recently escaped from the dark woods.

Hassan, a sailor from the city of Aryia, has become a good friend of young Vladimir, who has invited him to spend some time at the court of his parents. Unfortunately Vladimir brings with him the corpse of Tristan. The young paladin died during his adventures in the lands of the Khinasi.

When the young scions are reunited, they decide to spend a few moments in a nearby tavern to hear Vladimir's tale about the death of Tristan. Ryel and Thalion follow them. While in the tavern, vermins summoned by some malevolent will attack the scions, who are forced to fight.

When the fight is over, Thalion reveals himself as the returned Duke of Alamie. The scions are confused by these news. They bring the man to the castle of King Storm, where he has the chance to explain himself further.

Thalion tells of how he was imprisoned by the former Emperor of Aduria 20 years before. After a few weeks in the dungeons, he was scheduled to be executed, but he managed to escape. To not lose face, the Emperor lied and announced that he had died while in captivity. Thalion has been in hiding for 2 decades, but recently decided it was time to return. He claims to have received a vision from Haelyn, god of justice, himself. An ancient horror is about to be unleashed on the continent, and he will do what he can to fight against it.

The PCs decide to bring Thalion with them back to Jentilak, in order to confer with the king and queen, and to finally lay Tristan to rest.
